Medic association to follow teachings of Uncle Ho

The Vietnam Young Doctors’ Association held a meeting on March 22 and 28, to review activities carried out by the association and other clubs at all levels during the course of 2010.

The Vietnam Young Doctors’ Association held a meeting on March 22 and 28, to review activities carried out by the association and other clubs at all levels during the course of 2010.

The meeting in Hue City in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue discussed preparations for the forthcoming outstanding young doctor festival 2011 to be held in Hanoi on May 18 and a project to establish a charitable clinic to help disadvantaged people.

At the meeting, participants agreed to conduct a program “Young medical workers follow teachings of Uncle Ho – help improve community health”. The association will undertake this program along with Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper. Under the program, more than 2,000 young medics will provide free examination and medication to over 55,000 needy patients in 63 provinces nationwide.

Moreover, over 12,000 young doctors and students of medical schools will be encouraged to donate blood.  Under the program, medical facilities and equipment will be provided to flood-stricken provinces. 

The program will be from May 1 until May 18.
