McDonald Opens Restaurant on Dien Bien Phu Street, HCMC

The world’s largest restaurant chain McDonald’s has just opened its first branch in Vietnam on the Dien Bien Phu roundabout in District 1.

The world’s largest restaurant chain McDonald’s has just opened its first branch in Vietnam on the Dien Bien Phu roundabout in District 1.

The restaurant offers seating for 350 customers, a 24-hour drive-thru window, a playground and a parking lot.

Other international fast-food companies established in HCMC are KFC, Lotteria, Burger King, Subway, Jollibee, Pizza Hut and Dominoes Pizza.

The Korean chain, Lotteria, is the leading fast-food chain in Vietnam with 160 restaurants. KFC follows with 140 restaurants and Jollibee with 30 restaurants.

The addition of McDonalds and other international restaurant chains indicate increased foreign investment and competition in Vietnam, which boasts a population of 90 million and remains a developing market for retail service businesses.
