Landslide displaces 5 families; 7 houses at risk

Five houses along Nha Man canal in Tan Nhuan Dong commune, Dong Thap province’s Chau Thanh district fell into river in the early morning on July 15.

The area was submerged at a depth of 3 weeks ago. The People’s Committee of Chau Thanh district and the district’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have asked households located near the landslide to move to safer locations and launched a landslide emergency.
There are 12 households in the landslide area, including five collapsed houses and 7 others at a risk of being swept away into river, said Vo Dinh Trong, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural of Chau Thanh district .
