Vietnamese actress Dao Phuong Anh received the Best Actress award for her role in the film of Nham mat thay mua he (Summer In Closed Eyes).
The Best Actor award went to Christian Bables of the Philippines for his performance in the film of “Signal rock”.
The Best Feature Film Director award belonged to Poland’s Piotr Domalewski, Director of “Silent night”. While Serbia's director Vladimir Todorovic got The Judge's Awards for feature and short films for his film, “The countryside people”.
The Network for Promotion and Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award was given to the film “Student A” by director Lee Kyung-sub from the Republic of Korea.
The Best Young Short-Film Director award was handed to Nguyen Le Hoang Viet of Vietnam for the film “Ban cung phong” (Roommate).
The Judge’s Award was presented to Ta Quynh Tu of Vietnam for the film, “Hai dua tre” (Two kids).
Kazakhstan’s Aizhana Kassymbek received The Best Short Film Award for the movie “Su” (Water).
The film Chang vo cua em (My Mr.Wife) by Charlie Nguyen of Vietnam took the Audience’s Choice Award for Vietnamese favorite film.
This year’s festival attracted 147 international features and shorts from 45 countries and territories with more than 200 screenings. Highlights of the event were outdoor screenings featuring films, including ‘Co Ba Saigon’ (The Tailor) from Vietnam, ‘Anida and the floating circus’ (Argentina) and ‘Simple’ (Australia).
The 5th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) 2018 themed “Cinema-Integration and Development” was organized from October 27-31.
The event aims to honor best movies, new talents as well as encourage the cooperation among producers and delegates.
It is also a venue for the celebration and betterment of both Vietnamese and international cinema as well as giving a chance for local and foreign film makers to meet, exchange experiences and thoughts with each other.
A series of activities was held during the event, such as HANIFF Campus and Film Project Market, exhibition on filming locations in Vietnam, seminar on Polish and Iranian cinema, outdoor screenings, art performances and more.
