Covering an area of 17,000 square meters, the VND345 billion ($14,873,984) hospital is project to mark the 40th anniversary of Can Gio district becoming a district of Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking in the inauguration ceremony, Director of the municipal Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh said that the infirmary is well-equipped with the state-of-the-art devices and testing network for treatment and diagnosis.
The infirmary has three standard surgery rooms; four special rooms specializing skin, eye, ear-nose-throat, and oral and maxillofacial.
The hospital admits inpatients in pediatric, maternity, surgery and emergency- intensive care units.
Simultaneously, seven medical clinics in seven wards of Can Gio District were updated to implement family doctor models with an attempt to ensure all inhabitants in the district to enjoy best medical services.
Director Binh highly appreciated the upgrading of grass-root medical facilities to help not only reducing patient overload in big hospitals but also facilitate locals in accessing medical services.
On the same day, an exhibition was organized in Can Gio District’s Cultural House and Can Thanh Park to mark Can Gio - 40 years of founding and developing.
The exhibition lasts untill January 8, 2019 .
From a sterile land due to chemical in wartime, Can Gio of today is internationally famous with the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve. Villages are connected with the national grid and inhabitants here can enjoy fresh water as well as access to medical services and social security services.
