Hung Kings Temple Festival 2012 kicks off

A commemorative ceremony to mark the anniversary of the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple historical site was organised in Phu Tho Province on March 26 (March 5 on lunar calendar).

A commemorative ceremony to mark the anniversary of the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple historical site was organised in Phu Tho Province on March 26 (March 5 on lunar calendar).

The ceremony is the first ritual among various rites that are organised during the anniversary of the Hung Kings, during which time people throng the temple to pray for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
 
A wide range of folk cultural activities and sporting games will mark the anniversary of the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple Festival in Phu Tho Province from March 26-31 (March 5-10 on lunar calendar).

On the same day, the 6th international photo exhibition featuring pictures, cultural and literary works on Vietnam’s ancient capitals including Phu Tho, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Thua Thien-Hue opened at the Hung Vuong Museum.

The display presents to viewers 542 photos by 354 photographers   from 38 countries reflecting the daily activities and cultural life of many countries.

A scientific seminar on Hung Vuong also took place in Phu Tho Province on March 26.
