The Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City recently launched the 11th Hoa Mai (Apricot Blossom) Furniture Design Competition.

The annual competition has been launched especially for students from universities and colleges, young freelance furniture designers and designers working with furniture manufacturers.
Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Association, said the competition will bridge the gap between producers and young Vietnamese designers in the field of interior design.
The competition aims at building a base for Vietnam’s furniture interior decoration sector.
The highlight of the competition this year will be design workshops held by famous US designer John Kelly and technique consultation lectures by German experts.
Winning entries will be displayed at domestic and international fairs.
Entries should arrive before December 25 from which Jury members will select 20 of the best entries for the design workshops and training courses lectured by German experts.
