Ho Chi Minh City marks Party anniversary

Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting Wednesday to mark the 82nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Feb. 3.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting Wednesday to mark the 82nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Feb. 3.

City Party chief Le Thanh Hai in his speech reviewed the Party’s foundation and development history over the past 82 years, and spoke out the city’s key tasks this year.

Professor and Doctor Dang Luong Mo, on behalf of intellectuals of the city, expressed a wish that the Party and State would continue to create favourable conditions for intellectuals so that they can make more contributions to the country.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the municipal Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said on behalf of the young generation that young people in the city were determined to follow their ancestors in the cause of developing and protecting the nation.

During the meeting, city leaders presented noble awards by the Party and the State to outstanding groups and individuals in the city.

Before the meeting, the delegation of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee in the city led by Party chief Le Thanh Hai offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Museum – City Branch, and Ton Duc Thang Museum.
