The national center for hydro meteorological forecasting (NCHMF) warned in the upcoming times, water levels on Mekong and Saigon River will continue to increase in accordance with high tides and may reach its peak on October 25 to 27.
As per the center’s forecast, water levels will be 2.75m at Tan Chau Station on Tien River, below warning level one; 2.69m at Chau Doc Station on Hau River; at 2.05m at Can Tho Station on Hau River and 1.60m at Phu An Station, above warning level 3.
Floods may appear at low lying areas and areas unprotected by the dyke system while the high tides will cause flooding at low-lying areas in HCMC, Vinh Long and Can Tho provinces.
