He made the statement at the national meeting on January 19 to laud religious organizations in providing medical treatment to poor dwellers, people with disabilities, people living with HIV/ AIDS and mental health organized by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Ministry of Health.
According to Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, religious organizations have provided medical treatment, some 1,975 people have so far registered to donate human organs after deaths from 2015 and 743 donated their body.
Especially, 219 monks, priests and religious followers registered to donate their body for medicine benefits.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Man appraised religious organizations’ healthcare services, stressing that the Party and the Government always encourage religious organizations’ involvement in charitable activities to take care of underprivileged people, contributing to the nation’s good tradition.
He also called on religious organizations to encrease people awaraness on protecting environment and dealing with climate changes.
On the occasion, the Fatherland Front and the Ministry of Health awarded certificates of merit to 20 teams and 15 individuals that actively contributed in taking care of people healthcare.
