HCMC, New South Wales to cooperate in vocational training venture

Ho Chi Minh City and New South Wales (Australia) announced on December 2 a cooperation agreement for vocational training for students and teachers.

The program will train English language skills to students as well as pedagogical skills to Vietnamese teachers according to international standards and will include tourism management and technology information.

Students will receive certificates from the New South Wales Vocational Training Institute upon graduation, which will be recognized worldwide. This will make Vietnamese students eligible for employment opportunities not only in Vietnam but also in other countries.

From 2014, the vocational training program will run at the Phu Lam Technical Economic College, Thu Duc College of Technology, and Nguyen Huu Canh Technology and Economic Vocational School.

The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; John McAnulty, Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; and Adrian Piccoli, Minister of Education and Communities of New South Wales.
