Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Party’s Committee, People’s Council and Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee together with local residents and overseas Vietnamese attended a solemn ceremony to commemorate Hung Kings on April 28--the 10th day of the third lunar month.

They burned incense and offered traditional Chung and Day cakes and specialties of the southern region to the Hung Kings.
On behalf of the city’s leaders and residents, chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Vo Thi Dung expressed city citizens' reverence toward the country’s founders.
The ceremony was hosted amid the time when the country is rushing to celebrate 40 years of liberating the southern region and unifying the country.
Mrs. Dung said that the last 40 years was an important phase in the construction, development and protection of the city, marking its positive contributions to the Party’s renovation policies.
On the occasion of the Hung Kings anniversary, the committee called on citizens and soldiers to continue working for more achievements in the renovation cause of the country and the city’s development.
A delegation of 70 overseas Vietnamese from 20 nations and territories were present at the Hung Kings Temple relic site in the northern province of Phu Tho on Monday afternoon to offer incense and expressed their respect and gratefulness to Hung Kings.
