Attending at the event were Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Alternate Member of the CPV Central Committee and First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, Chairwoman of the HCMC People's Council, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam.
The meeting aims to celebrate the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), the 107th anniversary of the day he left the country to seek ways for national salvation (June 5) and the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation.
Addressing the meeting, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong appreciated activities and works which were carried out by youth throughout the country during the campaign.
He hoped young people will do their jobs to the best of their abilities and make every effort and energy to the growth of the society and country.
According to First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, more than 6 million union's members have implemented hundreds of works and project, contributing to the socio-economic development and environmental protection for the past two years.
On the same day, delegates early attended a ceremony to report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at Nha Rong Harbor; joined a tour around local cultural-historical sites in the city, such as National Cultural and Historical Park, Saigon River Tunnel, industrial zones, high-tech agriculture areas, river bus route ; visited Vietnamese heroic mothers, disadvantaged workers and children at hospitals and open houses.
Additionally, the Ho Chi Minh City official trade union and the the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Support for People with Disabilities and Orphans also organized ceremonies honored individuals and units in the “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style” campaign.
