Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company hosted a ceremony to implement the Build-Transfer project to build four main roads in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City on February 15.
Former President Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan and Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Van Dua attended the ceremony.
The four main roads include an arc avenue, a lakeside road, a Saigon Riverside road and a 12 km. flyover, according to the Management Board of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
Construction is estimated to last 36 months costing VND12.18 billion (US$575.47 million).
Technical infrastructure will be built underground with advanced technologies ensuring long-term development of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
Construction of the four roads plays a significant role in development of the new urban area, liking it with main traffic works in the city like Thu Thiem Bridge, Vo Van Kiet Highway and Saigon River Tunnel, said Mr. Quan during the ceremony.
The four roads are key to developing Thu Thiem New Urban Area into a high-class finance, commerce and service center of HCM, said Mr. Quan. It will also be a cultural and recreational center for citizens.
