On January 8 the 11th meeting of the Party Executive Committee was organized in Hanoi to evaluate developments of the Party in 2012 and setting forth key tasks for 2013.
At the meeting, the Hanoi City Party Committee focused on implementing a number of main issues; reviewing Party operations in 2012; as well as a look into disciplinary work, settlement of complaints and denunciations.
During the session, the Hanoi Party Committee will conduct a vote of confidence for members of the Standing Board and a number of key position holders.
The task is challenging, but if successful, it will positively impact the attitude of municipal officials, said Committee Secretary Pham Quang Nghi.
In 2012, Hanoi disciplined 847 party members and 27 party organizations, he added
Apart from members of the Standing Board, leaders of seven ‘sensitive’ municipal departments like construction, natural resources and environment, planning and architecture, planning and investment, home affairs, labor, invalids and social affairs, and police, will be subject to the vote.
Those who are voted and all members of the municipal Party Committee will be informed of the results. The results of subsequent annual votes will be given to the media after the City receives instructions from the Party Central Committee to do so.
Hanoi will be the first locality in the country to initiate a vote of confidence. The Party Municipal Committee has announced eight key tasks that focus on nine working programs; renovating and reorganizing the Committee; and implementing Party Central Committee instructions and resolutions.
