The train will travel 29 hours over the distance of 610 kilometers from Hai Phong to Kaiyuan or vice versa, excluding customs declaration time at Lao Cai station in Vietnam and Shanyao station in China.
There will be two trains traveling in the route a day. The number is expected to increase 3-4 trains a day.
In short term, they will mainly transport Sulphur and zinc ore from Vietnam to China and fertilizers from China to Vietnam.
