The People’s Committee in Hanoi and the Saint Paul General Hospital yesterday broke the ground for the construction of a medical high-tech center that specializes in endoscopic surgery and digestion treatment at the Saint Paul General Hospital.
This is the first high-tech medical center meeting international standards in Hanoi. It is expected to help improve medical service quality for people.
The 3,000 square meter center will have 10 consulting rooms, 15 patient rooms, four endoscopic diagnostic and three surgery rooms. It will be equipped with advanced medical facilities such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MIR) and CT scanner systems for early detection of cancer including the digestive system, stomach and rectum cancers.
Speaking at the breaking-ground ceremony, city Party Secretary cum People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the Saint Paul Hospital’s high-tech center will be the first of its kind in Hanoi to carry out operation applying high techniques in the world especially in treating cancers.
It is also a center to provide medical workers for the health sector in Hanoi and neighboring provinces as well as it will be a place to receive the most advanced techniques in the world transferred to the Southeast Asian nation.
The center is scheduled to operate in December, 2016.
