Da Nang was chosen the first destination for the Dutch Days with the theme “Sustainable investment and Smart cities”.
Consul General Carel Richter expressed his admiration for Da Nang not only for its vibrant development, but also for the city’s efforts and future plan in accomplishing environmental sustainability, informing that Dutch businesses take sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) seriously. Many companies take CSR even further and develop circular business models to reduce environmental footprint.
Since the first days, the friendship of Vietnam and the Netherlands has always been about the people, whether it was the Dutch traders coming to Hai Phong province and Hoi An ancient town hundreds of years ago, or the Dutch water experts working with farmers on the fields of Mekong delta today. Therefore the second day of Dutch Days in Da Nang was dedicated to the public audience of the coastal city with a range of cultural activities.
The event is to mark the 45 years of diplomatic relations with Vietnam.
As planned, Dutch Days will be launched in Da Lat city on June 8-9, Hai Phong province in September, and Can Tho city on November 5-6, aiming to celebrate the two countries’ cooperation and generate new opportunities.
