The 98 handbooks were seized from the hand baggage of Xu Fenglin, a 33-year-old Chinese passenger travelling on flight CZ 3037 from Guangzhou City.

The 32 page handbook measured 10x14cm and showed the map of Vietnam sans the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Islands on page 2.

Xu Fenglin declared that he was a tour guide travelling on flight CZ 3037. The handbooks had been issued to him in China in the Chinese language, showing tourist destinations in Da Nang City.

The customs officials at Da Nang Airport have prepared a case against Xu Fenglin for bringing in illegal cultural material into Vietnam. The 98 handbooks are now in the custody of authorized organs.
