The 2010 Vo Truong Toan Awards were granted to 30 teachers in Ho Chi Minh City on November 19.

A formal ceremony was held at the Reunification Palace in District 1 with participation of Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee Nguyen Van Dua, Sai Gon Giai Phong Editor – in – Chief Tran The Tuyen, Director of the city Education and Training Department Huynh Cong Minh, Deputy General Director of insurance firm Prudential Robert Bugg, awarded teachers and hundreds of students.
30 awarded teachers have been selected by votes from a list of 60,000 teachers in the city with various selecting criteria such as excellent knowledge, excellent teaching result, popularity and trust from colleagues and students.
The city leaders hailed the teachers for their contribution and hoped the prize would spur them to play a role in developing education in the years ahead.

Staff and students from Tran Dai Nghia junior high school, District 1 came to the ceremony early to take seats. They watched their beloved colleague and teacher accept her award.
Attending the ceremony, Vice chairman of the city People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan spoke highly of the teachers who overcome daily hardships to devote their lives to teaching. Teacher Truong Thi Kim Chi from Son Ca Preschool in District 8 has taught tirelessly for 30 years despite the many challenge of the career.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy General Director of insurance firm Prudential Robert Bugg commended the country for its reverence of teachers.
