Co Chien Bridge to be opened in May

The last batch of concrete of the construction of Co Chien Bridge connecting Mekong Delta provinces, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh was installed on April 22.

The project is expected to open on May 19, according to the investor, Project Management Unit 7 (PMU7).

The construction of the bridge has been kicked off in August, 2013 at a total capital of VND2, 308 billion. 

It includes 1.6km long and 16m wide. The bridge will have four lanes for vehicles with a design speed of 80 km per hour.

The bridge will help reduce the distance from Tra Vinh to HCMC by 60 kilometers and ease the traffic on the National Highway 1A.

The Co Chien Bridge will create advantages for the development of  Tra Vinh province and its Dinh An economic zone.
