City Chairman meets new Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam

Mr Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, held a meeting with Mr. Hiroshi Fukada, the new Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam on November 21.

 

During the meeting, Chairman Le Hoang Quan hoped that the new Japanese Ambassador will create more advantageous conditions to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Mr. Hisoshi Fukada judged that Ho Chi Minh City is an attractive market for Japanese investors. However, in order to continue to promote this advantage, Ho Chi Minh City needs to upgrade infrastructure, innovate administrative formalities and protect the environment.

On the same day, Chairman Le Hoang Quan also had a meeting with Hirokazu Higashino, Director of Building and Overseas Real Estate Department of Sumitomo Corporation, with the aim to expand investment cooperation in the City.

Sumitomo Corporation plans to construct a building for Japanese investors in the City center and invest in Thu Thiem commercial financial center as well as build schools for Japanese children in District 7.

Until now, HCMC has attracted about 600 Japanese invested projects worth more than US$3 billion.
