Ca Mau Province People’s Court has summoned relevant persons connected to the crimes committed against the Ngoc Chanh Commune boy.  The case was uncovered in late April.

Tran Trong Nhan, chief of criminal proceedings at Ca Mau Province People’s Court will chair the trial.

Meanwhile, lawyer Nguyen Thi Hong Lien will represent the victim.

Nguyen Hoang Anh had worked on a shrimp farm in Ngoc Chanh Commune, Dam Doi District beginning in August 2008.

For more than a year, the couple who operated the farm, Huynh Thanh Giang and Ma Ngoc Thom, savagely mistreated the boy, Anh said, telling investigators gruesome stories of how they burned him with hot irons and boiling water, ripped out his teeth with pliers, and threw shrimp tank cleansing fluid on his open wounds.
