Nearly 10,000 people took part in a walk in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4, in support of Agent Orange victims.

The event is one of the many activities to mark ‘Day for Agent Orange Victims’ also called ‘Orange Day’, which is held each year on August 10.

The charity walk in particular is titled ‘Action for Agent Orange Victims’.

On the other hand, a special concert titled ‘Aspiration for Life’ will be held at the municipal Opera House on August 5 by the HCMC Red Cross organization.

The music show aims to raise money for Agent Orange victims and poor disabled people. The show will be broadcast live on VTV9 channel.

The HCMC Red Cross has already received more than VND2 billion from individuals, organizations and enterprises to support victims of Agent Orange and people with disabilities.

In addition, a photo exhibition marking the 51st anniversary of the Agent Orange/Dioxin disaster in Vietnam opened at the HCMC Labor and Cultural Palace on August 1.

The display themed ‘Agent Orange-everybody’s pain’ introduced to viewers the impact and consequences of Agent Orange on Vietnam’s environment and people for many generations to come.

The exhibition will run until August 12.

On the same day, another exhibition called ‘Together with Agent Orange Victims-to overcome difficulties’ opened at the War Remnants Museum in HCMC.

The display honors 10 bright examples of Agent Orange victims who have overcome pain and disabilities to live a better and fruitful life.
