The inauguration of the cancer research and clinical trial center today took place in the cancer in Hanoi, the first of its kind in Vietnam.
Hospital director Dr. Tran van Thuan said that cancer cases have been escalating in Vietnam. Most of patients arrive at the hospital at the final stage leading to burden for the country’s medical insurance sector; plus Vietnamese cancer patients can’t access to advanced treatment methods.
Accordingly, the cancer hospital established the research center with the aim of managing, carrying out, supervising researches and clinical tests in hospitals as well as deliver training course one cancer prevention and treatment.
The center plays as a bridge between the cancer hospital and infirmaries, institutions and cancer departments in hospitals in the country to carry out clinical tests which are suitable for Vietnamese patients and socioeconomic condition.
