Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway construction started

The J2 construction package of the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project started in Ho Chi Minh city’s Can Gio district on July 19.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Presiding Judge at the Supreme Court Truong Hoa Binh-, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang,  Japan’s Ambassador Mr Hiroshi Fukada, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Le Hoang Quan attended the ground-breaking ceremony .

The J2 construction is one of the packages of the Ben Luc- long Thanh expressway project. The J2 package  located in Ho Chi Minh city’s Can Gio district will be 4,7 km long, including Cha and Can bridges crossing Can Gio district.

The Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project has total length of 57.8 kilometers, running through Long An province, HCM City and Dong Nai province. It is expected to promote socio-economic development in the key southern economic region, attract investment, and develop tourism in the three localities.

The road project, the largest of its kind in the south, has total investment capital of over US$1.6 billion. It is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
