Beauty of Ao dai- Vietnamese traditional dress

Over 15,200 visitors wore Ao dai, Vietnamese traditional dress and more than 40,000 attended the Ao Dai Festival at Dam Sen Culture Park in HCMC on March 9.  This is the record for the number of attendees wearing the dress, reported by organizers of Ao dai Festival 2014.

Not only thousands of Vietnamese women, men but also foreigners wore ao dai with many different designs, colors that created unexpectedly a successful festival.

Performances, seminars and exhibitions were held during the event. More than 1,200 students participated in the ao dai painting contest.

In Viet Nam, the ao dai is considered as a traditional costume worn in wedding ceremonies and formal parties. It is also considered a uniform at work and school.
Nowadays, although society, fashion develops more and more, ao dai keeps one’s beauty. Ao dai has become more fashionable and more popular with different designs and colors.

The organizers hoped that the festival will become annual event aims to introduce Vietnamese traditional costume to foreign countries.
