The meetings included the Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG), SOM Friends of the Chair (FotC) on urbanization, APEC dialogue on sustainable urbanization, APEC's Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI), a workshop on women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Vietnam has had active contributions for the Asian Pacific economic cooperation since 1998. The most noteworthy events were that Vietnam successfully hosted the APEC 2006, the 14th APEC summit and the sixth APEC Human Resource Development Ministerial Meeting in Hanoi in 2014.
