Ho Chi Minh City’s teenage pioneers held a ceremony on May 14, 2006 to mark the 65th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, May 15.
Among the participants were Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Ho Chi Minh City Deputy Party Chief, Ms. Pham Phuong Thao, chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council, and almost 1,000 teenagers representing more than 350,000 teenage pioneers in the city.
Mr. Quan presented to the young pioneers a laudatory banner with instructions for them to follow.
The Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization is an organization of Vietnamese teenagers, founded by the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh, directed by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. It is the reserved force of the union and plays a major role in teenage movements.
