On August 23, Tuoi Tre Online Newspaper under the Ho Chi Minh City Press and Radio-Television Agency, in coordination with Van Hien University, held a ceremony to present the 2026 “Wings to Dreams” scholarships and awards to disadvantaged students who have overcome hardships in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh.
The program awarded scholarships worth VND4 million each to 100 secondary and high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have demonstrated strong academic determination. It also presented 12 awards to authors of outstanding articles and profiles highlighting students who have overcome adversity.
In addition, the program offered 120 scholarships to successful applicants admitted to Van Hien University and Binh Minh Saigon College, with a total value of nearly VND5.7 billion (US$218,000). The scholarships cover between 30 percent and 100 percent of tuition fees for the entire course of study.
The “Wings to Dreams” scholarship and award program is part of the “For a Better Tomorrow” initiative launched by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in 1988. To date, the initiative has organized 628 activities, mobilized nearly VND440 billion, and provided support to approximately 77,313 pupils and students in pursuing their education.
