The first part of the music show will present to music lover the scenic cantata “Carmina Burana ” by Carl Orff.
Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by German composer Carl Orff in 1935 and 1936, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana. “O Fortuna", a medieval Latin Goliardic poem written early in the 13th century, was set to music as a part of "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi", the opening and closing movement of his cantata Carmina Burana. Carmina Burana was first staged in Frankfurt by the Frankfurt Opera on 8 June 1937
The scenic cantata will be performed by the VNOB’s Symphony Orchestra, VNOB’s Choir, Hanoi Voices Choir, Hanoi Freude Choir, Xuan Voce Choir; sopranos Dao To Loan, Ngo Huong Diep; tenors Trinh Thanh Binh, Nguyen Anh Vu; baritones Vu Manh Dung, Nguyen Huy Duc and conductor Dong Quang Vinh.
The second part is a contemporary dance titled ““Death and the Maiden”. The classical music work is one of the pillars of the chamber music repertoire by Austrian composer Franz Schubert .
