Mr. Carlos Agostinho do Rosario visited and laid a wreath at Martyr’s Monument and President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.
After the solemn welcoming ceremony, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a talking with the Mozambican leader.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that this is the first official visit of the Mozambican Prime Minister to Vietnam, considered as a turning point for the relationship of the two nations since former President Truong Tan Sang visited Mozambique in March, 2016.
Mozambique PM expressed his admiration for the history of Vietnam's national liberation struggle, and appreciated Vietnam's achievements in the country’s building and development.
In parallel, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated socio- economic achievements as well as reform efforts of Mozambique in the previous time, especially the country overcame difficulties in 2015- 2016.
For politics, both sides agreed to maintain exchange of high- ranking delegations, collaboration and support each other in the international forum.
On the same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that Mozambique would support Vietnam to stand for election of member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020 – 2021 tenure, and the Director General of UNESCO in the 2017 – 2021 tenure.
For the trade and investment cooperation, the leaders expressed their pleasure at good cooperation result of telecommunication service- Movitel between Viettel and Mozambique’s SPI Company, and cooperation projects of research and development of food and foodstuff crops in Mozambique.
Mozambique also desired that the military telecommunications group Viettel would expand its business operation hoping that the country would continue calling on more and more Vietnamese enterprises to invest in the fields of commerce, gas & oil, maritime transport, agriculture process and seafood, helping Mozambique become a leading partnership of Vietnam in the region; and Vietnam would be a bridge between Mozambique and the Southeast Asian region.
Besides that, Vietnam will continue strengthening experience exchange with Mozambique in natural disaster prevention, forecast weather, climate exchange, education and training, security and defense; and also suggested Mozambique to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises.
After the talking, the leaders witnessed a signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding on preservation cooperation for wild animals, and a cooperation agreement about aviation logistics service between Vietnam and Mozambique Government.
On the same day, PM Carlos Agostinho do Rosario had a meeting with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.
