Vietnam, Japan mark 40 years co-operation in health sector

The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health co-organized a forum in Hanoi on May 15 to mark 40 years of bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the health sector.

Speaking at the forum, Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said that Japan is currently one of the biggest bilateral ODA providers in Vietnam, lending great support to the health sector.

Japan-funded medical projects have been conducted effectively and sustainably over the years in Vietnam, contributing a great deal towards healthcare development, infrastructure upgrade and improved diagnosis, treatment and hospital management facilities, said Tien.
