Renowned American Mezzo-Soprano to Perform in Viet Nam

For the first time, internationally renowned American mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore will perform with French pianist Antoine Palloc in a special edition of the 11th Hennessy Concert Series at the Ha Noi Opera House on May 18.

Long regarded as one of the world's foremost concert artists, Larmore has performed in the most prestigious musical venues of North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

She began her rise to international stardom in the late 1980s with a series of operatic successes in France, followed by acclaimed performances of bel canto and Baroque music throughout Europe.

Along with winning numerous prestigious awards, she has also received seven Grammy nominations.

Her discography contains over 70 recordings, of which her Harmonia Mundi recording of Handel’s Giulio Cesare was selected as the “Best Baroque Opera of the Year” in 1992.

Larmore has also appeared in numerous publications including Opera News, the English Opera, the French Opera International, the German Vogue and Max. She has also appeared on a variety of television programs around the world.

Joining her for the show is her frequent collaborator, French pianist Antoine Palloc. The pair have made several International recital tours, including appearances in Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Vienna, London, San Juan, Prague, Melbourne, Brussels, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Sao Paolo, Athens and Copenhagen, as well as all the major American venues.

The concert will introduce Broadway-style opera and Spanish and French love songs to Vietnamese music lovers

The event is co-organized by Moet-Hennessy Asia and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information.
