The health sector should focus on improving quality of medical treatment in all clinics, adopt high ethical standards in medical staff, and transfer new techniques and methods to district clinics to reduce overloading in central hospitals, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on January 24 in Hanoi.
Speaking at an online meeting to review the health sector’s mission in 2012 and plans for 2013, the PM asked the health sector to focus on raising quality of treatment in district hospitals across the country so as to help in reducing overloading in central hospitals.
Along with better treatment, the health sector must imbibe a sense of responsibility in medical staff, added the PM. He emphasised that medical ethics is connected with a sense of responsibility. He pointed out lack of responsibility of medical staff recently that led to several deaths and concern among the public.
The Prime Minister ordered the health sector to implement the above tasks and asked the doctors from the bigger hospitals to visit clinics in the countryside to share their skills with their district level counterparts.
