As per an agreement between Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, Ngoc Minh General Medical Clinic and the management aboard of Nguyen Van Huong Scholarship fund, the medical will give five full scholarships each VND25 million (US$ 1,121) a year to medicine students from low-income families in six years.
The agreement was signed in Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper headquarter between the three sides. Dr. Truong Thi Xuan Lieu, chairwoman of the fund's management board thanked the medical clinic for the scholarships.
She invited a representative of the medical clinic to be a member of the fund’s management board. Medicine University and Pham Ngoc Thach Medicine University promised to select excellent students to receive the scholarship – an incentive for them in studying.
For 17 years, over 1,100 medicine students from disadvantaged families received scholarships from the Nguyen Van Huong Fund with totally VND3.5 billion (US$ 156,985)
