These teachers are teaching Math and Science in English under a pilot program of HCMC. The program has been carried out in primary schools.
English native speaker teachers in the program organize activities in classroom to help children to understand rules of natural phenomenon and connect knowledge in class with real situation in life.
Through three year implementation, the program has been taught 6,000 students in 28 elementary schools in 10 districts.
Speaking at the meeting on the program Deputy Head of the Department Nguyen Van Hieu said that the program is suitable with the orientation of improving elementary children’s English in the integration era.
Department leaders expect schools to raise English teaching and learning quality to satisfy supply of high skilled labor force for the city in particular and the country in general.
