The Ministry of  Education and Training sent a dispatch to all its sub-divisions on August 7, ordering a  strict prevention campaign against the spread of disease in schools,  educational institutions and local communities.

As the spread of disease is becoming more and more complex and rampant across the country, the ministry has  asked all its sub-divisions to actively coordinate with healthcare units in helping to curb the spread of infectious diseases in schools, especially the dreaded hand-foot-mouth disease that has affected hundreds of young children.

All departments and related agencies have been asked to step in and help curb the spread of various diseases in educational institutions and local communities as well.

As per instructions by the ministry, related departments will have to set up detailed prevention programs in a bid to early diagnose sick children in pre-schools, so as to quarantine them immediately.

Teachers have also been asked to inform medical centers immediately upon discovering an affected case.

Schools must provide fresh food and water and frequently disinfect the   school premises.
