Floodwaters from the upper stream of Mekong delta are pouring to Mekong River while tides in the downstream is rising therefore the water level on Mekong river system is keeping to rise quickly. The water level was measured at its peak of 3.72m on Tien River at Tan Chau Station; at 3.21m on Hau River at Chau Doc Station.
It is forecast in the next days, water levels on Mekong River will continue rising quickly. On August 31, the water level on the Tien River at Tan Chau Station will reach at 4.2m and the Hau River at Chau Doc Station of 3.7m, above warning level two.
On September 5, the water level at Tan Chau Station is forecast to reach its peak of 4.15m; at Chau Doc Station at 3.65m. As this, the lowland areas, alongside the river and areas unprotected by the dyke system in the provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Long An will continue facing floods.
