The meeting is to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Youth Union in short) on March 26.

During the meeting, HCMC Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang shared his profound emotion and sentiment upon meeting the city’s exemplary youth officials from the Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization.

He expressed a strong desire to listen to the perspectives of the city’s youth, understanding their expectations regarding what the city should do and how it should act to foster their optimal development. “Caring for you means caring for the future of the city,” the HCMC Party Secretary emphasized.

HCMC leaders affirmed that the municipality will facilitate all necessary conditions and establish specific mechanisms for all demographic groups, including the city’s youth union officials, to thrive comprehensively.

“You must prove that the support from HCMC’s leadership is genuinely valuable. You yourselves must demonstrate that, under the dedicated attention of the city’s leaders and with increased municipal investment, you are maturing, accomplishing more, and making greater contributions to HCMC’s development,” the municipal Party Secretary voiced.

In his introductory remarks, HCMC Youth Union Secretary Ngo Minh Hai underscored that this was not merely a meeting; rather, it served as a crucial opportunity for city leaders to directly listen to the thoughts, aspirations, innovative ideas, proposals, and initiatives of the youth.

Through these discussions, the city aims to orient and create conducive conditions for young people to continually exert their roles and responsibilities in constructing and developing the municipality during this new era.

According to Secretary Ngo Minh Hai, HCMC acts as the economic locomotive as well as a major cultural, scientific, and technological hub of the entire nation. It not only enjoys developmental resources but also robustly disseminates its characteristic values of dynamism, creativity, and compassion.

Within that developmental flow, successive generations of officials of the Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, along with the city’s youth in general, have consistently maintained their forefront role, unceasingly dedicating themselves and contributing to the vitality and sustainable development of the city.

However, confronted with new imperatives regarding growth quality, digital transformation, and international integration, youth union affairs and youth movements are currently facing significantly higher demands.

This necessitates that the Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization continue to innovate their operational content and methodologies vigorously, while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency of uniting the youth amidst the increasingly diverse needs and trends of the younger generation.

Stemming from those practical requirements, at the meeting, the Standing Board of the Youth Union requested that exemplary officials focus their discussions on central, core issues. These must align with the imperative to elevate the Youth Union’s capacity in leading, orienting, and promoting the youth’s role in addressing the city’s challenges in the forthcoming period.

The program, themed “Aspiration to Rise, Dedicate, Build, and Develop the City Named After Uncle Ho,” witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 600 delegates representing HCMC’s exemplary officials of the Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization.

This program provides an opportunity for the city’s youth to collectively review the glorious 95-year history of the Youth Union’s formation and development. Thereby, it reinforced the cultivation of revolutionary ideals and political fortitude, igniting patriotism, national pride, and the youth’s sense of responsibility in the noble cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Concurrently, it establishes a democratic and open forum for city leaders to directly listen to the aspirations, enthusiastic recommendations, and creative ideas from the exemplary youth officials concerning education, economics, culture, and society.

It contributes to arousing the aspiration for dedication and the direct, practical contributions of the city’s youth towards effectively executing socio-economic development tasks and ensuring national defense and security for the 2025-2030 period and subsequent years.
