At the meeting with the German Consul General, the city leader expressed his pleasure at good cooperation relationship in many fields between the two states over the past years.
Currently, Germany has total 151 projects with investment capital of US$ 286 million, ranking the 13th among 106 countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh City.
Last year, the bilateral trade turnover reached US$ 2 billion; and the two- way trade turnover hit US$ 450 million in the first seven months of 2019.
HCMC focuses on development of infrastructure, energy, green growth, etc and sets a target to become a financial hub of the region; therefore, Chairman Phong hoped that Ms. Josefine Wallat would affirm her major role as a bridge to call on as well as guide the German businesses cooperating and investing in the potential market.
Chairman Phong pledged to create favorable conditions for German businesses as well as the German Consulate General to operate effectively in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Ms. Josefine Wallat, Germany is very interested in the fields of energy, green growth, technology and education.
Next year, the two countries will celebrate many activities to mark the 45th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic ties, contributing to boost cooperation development between Vietnam and Germany in the forthcoming time, added Ms. Josefine Wallat.
