In the first day of the visit, the delegation called on the province’s agricultural experimental station.
Chairman Phong said that the delegation aimed to study the model of agriculture of Aichi province and seek cooperation opportunities in high-tech agriculture between Ho Chi Minh City and Japan.
As per the growth orientation, from 2018, Ho Chi Minh City will prioritize hi-tech agriculture along with training human resource for the sector in the city during 2018 – 2020.
Accordingly, the city’s agriculture and rural development will continue implement application of IT to support urban agriculture effectively and sustainably connected with the agriculture re-structuring project with the government’s new rural plan.
Aichi province’s station was set up in 125 years being one of good place for adoption of hi-tech in seeding and planting agricultural products.
Director of the station Imai Katsuhiko introduced the model development of the station and achievements in past years.
Chairman Phong said that in 2010, HCMC set up hi-tech agriculture section specializing studying seed and agricultural technique for the sector growth and meet consumers’ rising demand.
However, in a bid to improve quality and effectiveness, city leaders wanted to learn more lessons from other nations which got success in the field.
He expected the two localities will cooperate more in the hi-tech agriculture.
