In this round, products’ owners will deliver a speech in front of a board of specialists. Those who can pass the round will enter a training session to perfect their work and their presentation skills before taking part in the final round. Winners of the contest will receive the investment of up to VND2 billion (approx. $86,212) from the HCMC Department of Science and Technology.
This contest, starting from October 2018, is organized by the above department to seek suitable technological solutions or products implementing GIS as well as related technologies to tackle existing problems of the city. It also wants to contribute to the transformation of HCMC into a smart and innovative urban area.
After 5 months of launching, the contest received 72 products of various fields, ranging from public administrative management to planning support or social help. Not only do scientists but also students and pupils eagerly participate in the contest, clearly marking the great interest of the general public about GIS application in real life.
