The accident occurred at about 7am this morning on the National Highway 20 in Fi Nom town.
The truck was reportedly being driven by Tran Trong Tin, 28, from Ha Tinh province, running from Da Lat City to HCM City. Witnesses said its driver lost control and hit one car and many motorbikes, then crashed into roadside houses and two cars. The truck was upturned on the side of the road.
The victims were the truck’s driver and four people who were travelling on the street, including Nguyen Thi Huong,68, Nguyen Thi Bach Phuong,66, from Duc Trong district and two unidentified person. Injured people were Ha Tan Tri,53, and Nguyen Thi Mong Hoa,63, from Duc Trong district.
After hearing about the accident, the traffic police went to the scene to investigate the cause.
