The Police Investigation Agency of Dong Nai Province on February 12 issued an official letter to call for provision of wrongdoing information related to the Long Thanh International Airport project for the investigation.
Accordingly, the Police Investigation Agency (PIA) of Dong Nai Province is investigating the case of “Violations in compensation, support and resettlement when the State reclaims land” for the Long Thanh International Airport project.
The initial investigation identified numerous wrongdoings from the Project Compensation Council, resulting in significant financial losses to the State budget.
Currently, the PIA of Dong Nai Province has prosecuted and held into custody Chairman of the People’s Committee of Long Thanh District Le Van Tiep, who served as Head of the Compensation Council along with several officials related to violations in compensation, support and resettlement payments.
The Police of Dong Nai Province is calling on relavant officials, employees and the public to urgently provide relevant information on violations in the compensation process.
Individuals involved in unlawful compensation payments are encouraged to voluntarily report and return any improperly received assets to benefit from leniency policies.
Those who do not proactively report and hand over improperly received assets discovered by investigators may face criminal charges for fraudulent claims and misappropriation of State property under the law.
