Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway project kicks off

Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway project was kicked off in the central coastal province of Quang Nam on May 19.

Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway project was kicked off in the central coastal province of Quang Nam on May 19.

With total investment upto nearly US$1.5 billion, the highway is a key national project and part of the North-South Expressway invested by the Government for Vietnam Highway Investment and Development Company.

Accordingly, the World Bank has provided US$631 million, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will fund US$673 million, and the remaining amount will come from the national budget.

The highway will support a 120km/h speed limit. It has a total length of 140km, starts in Hoa Vang District in Da Nang City and ends in Quang Ngai Province.

Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway project is expected to finish by 2017.
