Authorized agencies should further popularize the Competition Law as many Vietnamese businesses have not paid attention to and unintentionally break it, said experts at a conference on the law’s implementation yesterday.

Popularization should be stepped up to raise businesses’ awareness of the competition law in order not to violate related regulations, they said.

The Competition Law took effect since 2005. So far, a total of 32 businesses have been penalized for breaking the law and four cases have gone on trial.

Experts at the conference said that the Vietnam’s Competition Law is estimated to be the best of its kind in the Southeast Asia.
