The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee yesterday held a meeting with representatives of disabled people across the country in the 35th anniversary of Vietnam's Day for Disabled People.
57 delegators participated in the meeting representing 6.7 million disabled people in the country.
At the meeting, Vietnam's Disabled People Association petitioned the Fatherland Front Central Committee to encourage international organizations to set up vocational schools in the country where disabled people can both learn a job and learn literature.
The association also proposed the government to recognize autism children as disabled kids so that these kids can enjoy preferential policy for them. Moreover, the government should provide unsecured loans to producing units owned by disabled people through organizations which disabled people participate in.
Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan acknowledged the will of millions of Vietnamese disabled people. He said that many disabled people become good models for people to follow.
Accordingly, the Committee will connect the Association with related ministries and agencies to submit its petition.
