Apollo Education and Training’s Ho Chi Minh City Campus held a workshop on February 23, 2006 to introduce Business Language Testing Service (BULATS), a language assessment service recognized all over the world.
BULATS is a tool for companies and organizations that need a rapid, reliable and cost effective way of assessing the language skills of employees, trainees and job applicants. BULATS tests communication skills needed in real workplace situations.
The four types of BULATS test available now are the computer test, the standard test, the writing test and the speaking test. BULATS, whose organizer is the U.K.-based University of Cambridge, is available in English, French, German and Spanish.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, a senior executive from the BP Exploration Operation Company in Viet Nam, said, “As part of a global company, my company needs to ensure that all employees reach an internationally-recognized level of proficiency in English. That’s why our staff have to take BULATS as a contractual obligation.”
The British Council, authorized by the University of Cambridge, has organized English-language BULATS tests in Viet Nam since 1999.
