Attending the event were Vice director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs and Head of the City’s Committee for Emulation and Reward, Huynh Cong Hung; head of the Committee for Cultural and Social Affairs under the municipal People's Counci, Thi Thi Tuyet Nhung; and Deputy Head of the Office of the HCMC People’s Committee, Vo Sy.
This year’s event honored 50 outstanding teachers from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary and high schools, vocational schools and colleges in the city. Award-winning teachers have had innovative teaching methods and great contributions for the education sector, besides having gained the trust and respect of colleagues, students and students' parents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, Le Hong Son said that the city’s educational sector is proud of its teaching staff who have been dedicated to their careers to provide knowledge to students and had made great contribution to the training of new generations of intellectuals in the process of the nation’s construction and protection.
The Vo Truong Toan Awards honoring outstanding teachers in the field of education was granted 626 teachers over the past 21 years.
